Singing Sirens at Dawn

Of all mythical creatures from ancient greece the sirens have got to be my absolute favourites. Mainly because they can be portrayed as both horrendous man-eating devils of the sea, but also beautiful and artistic beings of mystical wonder.
They're considered evil monsters, but they're not straight-out beastly like most other fiends of ancient greece (the hydra, the minotaur etc).

I've been wanting to practice sceneries for a little while, and this is what I came up with, after gaining a little inspiration from the Odyssey


I had originally planned to draw a shipwrecked sailor swimming towards the three sirens, but I decided to focus more on the settings than an actual event. 
Perhaps you could imagine that the picture itself is a POV of a sailor swimming towards the cliffs to hear the voices of the sirens.

You could also not do that... I don't know, it's really up to yourself what you wanna make of this..


Eitherway, I'm satisfied with the way this turned out. It may be a bit blurry on some computers, but that is a glitch that I unfortunately can't fix.
